Phil had lost a ring given to him by his deceased father. This ring was very precious to him and valuable in a financial sense as well so as you can imagine, he was very upset.
He last wore it to his daughter’s wedding three weeks before and put it back in its usual place, but when he wanted to wear it again it had disappeared.
Phil had guests in his home who had come to the wedding so the underlying question was also “has this ring been stolen?”
The guests had left to travel for a couple of weeks, so his family took the opportunity to search the house from top to bottom with no sign of the ring anywhere. After the search I thought to ask the horary question. Here is the resultant chart: (click to enlarge)
I was interested to see the Ascendant was Libra with Venus rising in the same sign. As Venus rules jewellry, this indicated to me that it was a true horary. The Ascendant and Venus were also conjunct Phil’s natal Moon – another indication of a true horary.
Possessions are always ruled by the second house, but as I was asking about someone else, which is a 7th house indicator, the 8th house becomes his possessions.
Mercury is the ruler of the Gemini 8th house and retrograde in the 12th house, indicating that the ring was hidden from view and possibly near a door as Mercury was close to the Ascendant.
The Moon was applying to retrograde Mercury and Mercury in turn was applying to the Moon, suggesting the ring would be found very soon and most probably the day after Mercury turned direct on the 26th October at 5.47 am . I thought it would be that day or the day after as the Moon-Mercury conjunction was very close.
I told the family this and assured them it would be found. They were very, very doubtful indeed as they were sure the ring had been stolen.
Which brings us to the hidden question in this horary (it is always a good idea to question the querient about the situation as you will often find a hidden agenda within their question) “Was the ring stolen by his brother or his wife?”
Using the turned chart, the 9th cusp becomes the third cusp (siblings) of the person I was asking for. The 9th cusp is ruled by Gemini so Mercury is again the major planet and the interpretation above can be applied. The suggestion is also that as the 8th and 9th cusps (turned 2nd and 3rd cusps) have the same sign on the cusp his brother had the ring. His brother’s wife becomes the third cusp of the chart as it is 7th from the 9th. This is Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter and with Mars conjunct the third cusp. It is most interesting that the brother and his wife were travelling at the time of the question as this fits Sagittarius very well. The ruler, Jupiter, was in the turned 5th house, with the Moon-Mercury applying with a two degree orb. This again suggested to me that the ring would be returned by the wife a day or two after Mercury turned direct.
On the 27th October 2014 at 7.10 pm, the day after the brother and his wife returned from their journey, the ring was found on a dresser in a spare room under some linen. This area had been thoroughly searched previously. The dresser was near the door and facing East; note that the Moon-Mercury conjunction is also conjoining the antiVertex, which is due East.

Note that
the Ascendant and Descendant are in the same sign and degree as those of the horary chart, but reversed i.e. the Ascendant of the found ring chart is the same as the Descendant in the horary chart.
The Descendant of the found ring chart is conjunct Venus in the horary chart.
Mercury in the found ring chart is conjunct the Moon in the horary chart, giving the timing.
Declinations are also very important in horary. Here are the declinations for the horary question:
Note that:
the Ascendant, Sun, Venus and Neptune are all parallel. The inclusion of Neptune describes the mystery of the missing ring. In the horary chart Neptune was square the 2nd and 8th cusps, increasing the mystery of what had happened to the ring.
Mars is very Out of Bounds at 24S55, perhaps indicating that the sister-in-law was “out of bounds” in some way.
Not only was the Moon conjunct Mercury, but parallel as well, – a very powerful placement indeed.
As Queen Elizabeth 11 turned 90 On 21st April 2016, I thought it might be an appropriate time to illustrate how Age Harmonics work using her chart.
I became interested in Age Harmonics many, many years ago so wonderful astrologer Dymock Brose sent me all the tables he had worked out to enable me to calculate these much more quickly. Later Solar Fire v 7 included the calculations in their program, making the use of this system very easy.
Highlight the chart you want to use, then go to the Chart menu on the upper left hand side, click it and scroll down to Harmonic/Transform. For a year harmonic click ‘harmonic chart’ and put the age in the little box under harmonic, click it and that chart appears. For a day harmonic click ‘harmonic age’ and then put in the date, time and location of the event, click OK and that chart appears.
My default house system is Koch and for age harmonics my default Moon position is the parallax Moon. Other house systems may also strongly respond and the normal Moon position is often responsive as well.
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born two weeks before she was due by Caesarean section on 21st April 1926 at a recorded time of 2.40 pm at 17th Brunton Street, Mayfair, London, the home of her mother’s parents. Issac Starkman, using various rectification techniques, says it is most likely that she was born at 2.38.12 am.

It is interesting that even though she was born by Caesarean section, the time and date of her birth showed her future as Queen and her strong orientation to the duty of this position.
I use the dwarf planet Ceres in my astrology and have always been fascinated that she has the Moon in Leo conjunct Ceres as this a very queenly position.
The Sun trine Vertex shows her prominent destiny.
The Arabic Lot of Kings and Sultans is at 00Leo17 with her Sun square and ruler of this Part, also indicating her future role.
Vertex-Chiron in parallel of declination indicates her fame; this parallel is echoed in longitude with the Sun in exact trine to her Vertex and a close conjunction with Chiron.
She has the duty oriented sign of Capricorn rising with its ruler, Saturn, conjunct the Midheaven in the Leo duad of Scorpio- a very powerful and long lasting position.
Here is her duad chart – take note of her duad degrees as they are echoed in her family. For example,
Prince Charles has his natal Mars-Vertex conjoining his mother’s duad Moon; his Saturn conjoining her duad MC; his Venus conjoining her duad Pluto; his Moon-Node on the midpoint of her duad Sun.
Prince William has his natal Jupiter in exact conjunction with his grandmother’s duad Jupiter; his natal IC conjoins her duad Sun; his natal Mars conjoins her duad Mars.
Prince George has his natal Moon conjoining his great-grandmother’s natal Uranus-Ceres; his natal Venus conjoining her duad South Node; his natal Neptune conjoining her duad IC;
I have chosen three important events in Queen Elizabeth 11’s life
(1) the time she became heir presumptive at the abdication of her uncle King Edward V111;
(2) the time she became Queen on the death of her father
(3) the day she was crowned monarch of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon; this time is important as it is the time she was consecrated Queen and swore her Oath to uphold the law and govern the Church of England.
Heir Presumptive
Elizabeth became heir presumptive when she was 10 years old on 10th December 1936 at 3.51 pm, London, UK when her uncle abdicated and her father became king. This is her 10th harmonic chart.
Harmonic charts don’t have the Descendant or MC-IC on the usual angles, they can be anywhere at all in the chart. Their position in these charts can indicate the area of life the relevant angles will activate for the year or the day. To include the Descendant, IC and antiVertex in an harmonic chart you need to put them in the Displayed Points section of your Solar Fire program.
This chart clearly shows this was an important year. Note the elevated Sun-Pluto conjunction, describing the intensity and power of her situation, which is particularly apt as Pluto is the modern ruler of her Scorpio MC. This is brought into high focus through the Sun square the Ascendant.
The MC in this chart is in the 6th house; as the brothers and sisters of your father are shown by the sixth house, this indicates her uncle’s involvement in this enormous change in life. The MC is conjunct Venus dignified in Libra with Venus opposite the Nodes, showing the family and public involvement.
We also have a stellium in Pisces in the 11th house, showing a year of considerable social involvement, with Uranus sextile Ascendant indicating a change of environment this year.
If a Year Age Harmonic chart resonates strongly with the natal chart we know it will be a very important year. Little Princess Elizabeth – as she has now become – had a number of connections with her natal chart.
The Ascendant conjoins her natal Sun as well as square the Age Harmonic Sun, indicating a time she was prominent because of her new position.
The Parallax Moon was conjunct her natal MC, also indicating a year of public prominence
the Mars-Uranus conjunct was midpoint her antiVertex, perhaps describing the sudden and unusual nature of this event which was part of her destiny;
the Nodes were square her Ascendant, indicating a family and group involvement;
Jupiter was conjunct her Venus – which could certainly describe an increase of fortune.
Venus is trine her natal Mars-Jupiter conjunction.
This high number of contacts to the natal chart indicate it is likely to be an important year and, with the Vertex axis involved, a year of destiny.

The Day Age Harmonics usually describe ordinary, daily events but if they activate an outer planet transit, a progression or direction, they can give excellent timing for major events. As with the Year Age Harmonics, if they trigger the natal chart they become much more powerful.
As day age harmonics move so quickly and are so responsive to latitude and longitude, it is wise to find the exact location of the birth and the event. You will notice that in all these charts I have used the exact latitude and longitude of the house where Elizabeth was born. You can get exact latitude and longitude for any address from this site: http://www.latlong.net/
Day Age Harmonics move very fast so a one-degree orb is the maximum to use as any larger orb will show something happening a few days before or after. In any major event one would expect this system to activate the angles or Vertex axis in the natal chart or the harmonic chart as well as other important placements in both charts.
It is also important to include the IC, Descendant and antiVertex in your planet selection as these are not opposite the MC, Ascendant and Vertex in Day Age Harmonics but occupy separate positions in the chart.

The MC of this chart is conjunct Elizabeth’s natal Venus exalted in Pisces; as Venus is ruler of her natal 4th house, this indicates the rise in status of both herself and her father.
The Sun is usually prominent in these types of events and is conjunct natal Mars, the traditional ruler of her MC and therefore also conjunct Jupiter, indicating the elevation in life.
In addition, parallax Moon is conjunct Jupiter and, as this conjunct is in Aquarius, it activated her social conscience.
As it is a new Moon in the Day Harmonic Chart, this suggests a new start in life.
Uranus at 22Libra40 is trine her natal Mars-Jupiter conjunction and the Day Age Harmonic Sun-Moon conjunction, indicating a beneficial change.
The ruler of the 4th house, Mercury, is opposite the IC, the father, indicating a day where her relationship with him was emphasised.
Though it is not shown in the above chart, the Descendant is 13Cancer02, square harmonic Pluto and conjunct natal Pluto, which is the modern ruler of her natal MC. This position describes the power and intensity of that day.
2. Elizabeth becomes Queen.
Elizabeth was declared Queen at the death of her father in the morning of 6th February 1952 at Sandringham House in Norfolk. She was only 25 years old so her 25th Age Harmonic is the one to use.
Sun trine Vertex, echoing her natal Sun trine Vertex and describing the year her destiny became a reality.
Sun is also square the Leo MC, which is in the 2nd house, indicating an important year for her career.
A possible death this year is shown by Neptune in the 8th quincunx Mars-Saturn, the IC (father) in the 8th quincunx the Vertex in the third (destiny) and the Moon in the 12th trine Uranus in the 8th. This is particularly strong as Uranus is the modern ruler of her Age Harmonic IC.
So many other factors there as well.
When you relate this chart to her natal chart we become certain that it is a year of change because:
the harmonic Uranus is conjunct her natal Ascendant and is trine harmonic Moon which is conjunct natal IC. These two planets activating angles suggests an important year.
The Moon was conjunct South Node, conjoined natal IC and was in opposition to natal Saturn – a clear indication of a sorrowful event; Ebertin in The Combination of Stellar Influences describes it as “separation, mourning, bereavement”.
Mars-Saturn conjunct natal Pluto is especially powerful as Mars is the traditional ruler of the MC, Pluto is the modern ruler and natal Saturn conjoins natal MC. These three factors coming together also suggests a year when career is emphasised – though not happily.
Jupiter activating her fixed T square by being conjunct natal Neptune, square natal MC-Saturn, opposite natal Mars-Jupiter is another powerful indicator for a very important year.
Her day harmonic chart shows a really important day:
Uranus is the ruler of the Ascendant of this chart and elevated, suggesting a day of change. It is part of a fixed T square involving Jupiter and Pluto, suggesting some powerful events are at hand.
In addition, the Moon is at 9 Virgo 05, trine Jupiter, indicating a day of personal benefit.
The Sun is opposite the antiVertex, indicating a day of destiny.
The MC is conjunct the Ascendant, suggesting her environment and career are interconnected.
When we look at this day harmonic in relation to her natal chart we find:
The node conjoins her natal Mars, ruler of her MC
Mars conjoins natal Uranus indicating the sudden and shocking event involving family.Mercury is conjunct her natal Part of Kings and Sultans at 00Leo17.
Mercury is conjunct her natal part of Kings and Sultans at 00Leo17.
Venus is square her natal Jupiter-Neptune opposition. As Venus is the ruler of the 4th house of father, this describes his death.
The ruler of the 8th house, the Sun, is in the 4th house and opposite the AH antiVertex.
If we use the Placidus house system the natal chart has 8th cusp at 18Virgo11 and, if we use the normal Moon, the harmonic Moon is 17Virgo54 conjunct the natal 8th cusp and trine harmonic Saturn. Quite fitting for a day of death involving matters of duty.
This Moon is also opposite Age Harmonic Descendant, indicating a public day.
3. Elizabeth annointed Queen
Elizabeth was anointed Queen at a sacred ceremony on the 2nd June 1953 at Westminster Abbey, London, UK when she had just turned 27 years old.
In the 27th harmonic chart we have Saturn elevated square the Aquarius Ascendant, describing an important year with some tension.
Saturn is also square natal Part of Kings.
The Sun is conjunct the Vertex, showing a year of prominence and destiny. It is also conjunct the Node, indicating group and family matters are to the fore.
The MC is elevated in the 10th house and conjunct Neptune, indicating career matters are to the fore and global media would be involved.
When we relate this chart to her natal chart we find:
The harmonic Neptune-MC conjunction straddles her natal Saturn-MC conjunction, with Neptune conjunct Saturn and MC conjunct MC – a sure indication of a year of prominence involving career and indicates the solemn and sacred occasion.
The ruler of the MC, Mars, is trine Venus, which in turn is quincunx Neptune in Cancer, perhaps describing the happy and global event that year.
Strongest of all is Uranus conjunct natal Ascendant, indicating a most unusual year.
The actual day harmonic for this event shows:
Elevated Neptune showing a day of global and media contact.
The MC at 23Sagittarius34 is quincunx the Vertex at 23Cancer21 suggesting a day of destiny involving the career; the quincunx always appears in a chart at times of change and this day brought an enormous change into her life as she became a consecrated queen.
Uranus square Mars, showing the tension and perhaps sudden events during that day. As Mars is the traditional ruler of her MC, this describes a change in career.
Moon square IC, indicating a public day.
Venus square Saturn! Poor Elizabeth, she must have been so nervous.
What truly fascinated me was that the degrees in Elizabeth’s day harmonic for this event were repeated in the natal charts of her direct heirs. As this was such an enormous and rare occasion, I wonder if the spiritual imprint has echoed down the generations.
Prince Charles(14th November 1948, 9.14.03 pm, Buckingham Palace, England) has his natal Vertex conjunct the Midheaven of this harmonic chart; his natal Part of Fortune conjunct Venus in this chart; natal Ascendant conjunct the harmonic Mercury and natal Black Moon Lilith conjunct harmonic Moon. All of these are within a one degree orb
Prince William (21 June 1982, 9.03 pm, St Mary’s Hospital, London, England) has his natal Neptune conjunct the harmonic Pluto and natal Ascendant conjunct harmonic MC again within a one degree orb.
Prince George (22nd July 2013, 4.24 pm, Paddington, London, England) has natal Mars trine harmonic Ascendant; natal Ascendant conjunct harmonic Saturn; natal Pluto-antiVertex conjunct harmonic Black Moon Lilith – all within one degree orb.
Even Princess Diana (1 July 1961, 7.45.06 pm, Sandringham, England), the mother of William and grandmother of George, has her Sun conjunct this harmonic Sun and her Chiron-Pluto opposition conjunct and opposite the harmonic Ascendant within a one degree orb.
Such very clear and exact contacts in both the year and day age harmonics for a number of events in the Queen’s life proves the efficacy of this system.
To finish I thought it would be interesting to look at Queen Elizabeth’s 90th harmonic to see what might happen in this year.
The Sun is conjunct the Vertex and elevated this year, indicating a time of public prominence. This has already been the case with her 90th birthday being celebrated all over the globe. The Sun is the ruler of the 8th house, suggesting there could be matters involving death or operations to deal with.
Mars is quincunx the Ascendant from the 6th house, suggesting a busy year that can be stressful physically.
The ruler of the Ascendant, Saturn, is elevated and conjoins Jupiter, suggesting focused and high profile duty is to the fore. This combination can also give her the ability to have a considerable effect in her role as Queen.
Node conjunct Neptune suggests a great deal to do with the Media this year. If she was younger it would give considerable travel with a member of the family or a group of people, but as she is 90 I think there is probably quite a lot of foreign contact.
Uranus opposite the MC would suggest some change in her position that could be quite unexpected.
This harmonic chart can also respond well to transits and when we see that transiting Pluto will conjoin the harmonic Ascendant and quincunx harmonic Mars this year as well as square harmonic Sun, it suggests periods of very high pressure and perhaps health problems, with a highlight near the 22nd October, where she can be accident/injury prone.
In this article we will consider the contacts of the charts of the Federal Liberal Party and Federal Labor Party to Australia’s Swearing-In Chart.

Federal Liberal Party
This Party was formed on the 16th December 1944 in Albury, Australia. I have no idea of the time it was declared a political party so this is a Sun culminating chart. Your can read more about the history of this formation here.

This chart has its Sun conjunct Australia’s radix Jupiter, a very beneficial contact indeed which has given the Liberal Party such influence on Australian politics.
Its Mercury is conjunct and its Saturn opposite Australia’s Saturn. As Mercury and Saturn tend to benefit each other I think this is quite helpful. As it is in the 9th house, perhaps it denotes quite a bit of chatter about Australia’s legal processes and the desire for conservative laws. Education is important and perhaps, as we have seen, the desire to limit higher education to the more conservative and wealthy citizens of Australia.
Its Mars is conjunct Australia’s radix Uranus-Vertex – a strange energy which can be violent and aggressive and perhaps describes the “Thugs in Suits” that many people feel pervades the Liberal Party.
Its Uranus is opposite Australia’s radix Venus and in Australia’s financial houses. This suggests that in spite of its presentation as the more stable party, it is in fact quite the opposite on a financial level.
Fortunately the Federal Liberal Party’s Pluto trines Australia’s Venus, giving periods of considerable financial gain and, as Pluto is in Australia’s 4th house, often through mining and/or the land.
The Federal Liberal Party’s Secondary Progressions and Solar Arcs have no planetary connections to Australia’s chart. As we have no time of inception we don’t know whether the angles, vertex axis or Moon have contacts.
Declinations:
Here are the Secondary Progressed Declinations of the Federal Liberal Party with the radix declinations of Australia:
Liberal’s Secondary Progressed Saturn-Uranus declinations (right hand column) are parallel with Australia’s radix Neptune. Ebertin in Combination of Stellar Influences describes this as “separation, mourning or bereavement” Not a very good structure for this election.
First Oath of Office
Possibly, as Robert Menzies was the first elected Prime Minister of the Liberal Party, the day and time he took his Oath of Office may be relevant for all future Liberal Prime Ministers. Robert Menzies was sworn in as the first Liberal Prime Minister on the 19th December 1949. I can find no record of the time or place but assume that it was around 10.00 am as most of our Prime Ministers have chosen this time. It was most likely at Canberra, Australia. This is a possible chart for the event:
This chart has its Jupiter conjunct Australia’s MC and perhaps its MC-IC axis straddling Australia’s nodal axis. These are very strong contacts and show the influence this Party has had on Australian Politics.
Its secondary progressions for the 2nd July 2016 are very promising. It has its SP Venus conjunct its radix Jupiter and Australia’s MC. This all by itself suggests success and happiness for Australia’s Liberal Prime Minister.
Federal Labor Party
As far as I can discover, the Federal Labor Party itself was formed on the 31st December 1900, Sydney, in the evening; the day before the Commonwealth of Australia became official. I think the time was 6.55 pm, but can’t find where I got the source. http://laborhistory.org.au/home.html#timeline. You can click the chart to enlarge it.
As this Party was formed on the eve of Australia becoming a Commonwealth most planetary placements are identical or very close to those of Australia’s chart.
It is interesting that this chart has Ceres conjunct the Vertex as Ceres will often describe a queen or queenly woman and the Australian Labor Party gave us our first female Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.
This chart’s Secondary Progressions for the election on 2nd July shows great deal of activity:
If we have the correct time its SP MC is 15Leo38, moving into a trine to Mercury and Uranus in fire signs. This augurs well for the election as it gives the power to influence others through ideas.
However the MC is also quincunx Saturn, suggesting considerable strain and adjustments as well. Saturn is the focal point of a YOD involving MC and Pluto, a very difficult energy that often describes a loss or death.
Both of these progressions are strongly activated in April 2017 when the Secondary Progressed Moon moves to conjoin SP MC. This, of course, is only true if I have the correct time for the inception of the Federal Labor Party.
But do these Secondary Progressions connect to Australia’s Swearing-In Chart? If they don’t the Secondary Progressions describe internal party politics, if they do then it describes an effect on Australia itself.

The Federal Labor Party’s Secondary Progressed Venus is in a separating square to Australia’s radix MC; this is normally considered very beneficial as it gives a warm connection to Australia’s chart.
However, SP Moon is quincunx Australia’s radix Saturn – a difficult energy with high pressure and some form of change or adjustment. As the Moon rules the people, this doesn’t look good for the Labor Party.
Secondary Progressed Mars is trine Australia’s Jupiter! A very successful connection indeed. It is particularly beneficial as Mars is ruler of Australia’s Ascendant and therefore Australia’s political chart responds strongly to triggers by this planet.
And the SP antiVertex is conjunct Australia’s Black Moon Lilith – the apogee of the Moon. I have no idea how this will work so will have to observe. Normally BML indicates a powerful woman being of great influence.
The Seondary Progressed declinations of the ALP also connect to Australia’s chart. In the table below, + describes Northern declination and – describes Southern declination. Click table to enlarge it.
You can see that the Federal Labor Party’s secondary Progressed Jupiter-Uranus activate Australia’s Vertex, Saturn, Sun and Jupiter; a very successful contact.
First Oath of Office
The Oath of Office of Australia’s first Labor Prime Minister, John Christian (Chris) Watson, was taken on 27th April 1904. I don’t know the time or place but as Melbourne was the acting Capital City at the time will use this location and I have cast the chart for 10.00 am, which is a likely time. This chart could very well be accurate as it has a MC of 29Pisces28 square Uranus at 29Sagittarius24 and the Party was only in power until 17th August 1904 – less than 4 months. Wikipedia says “Although Watson sought a dissolution of parliament so that an election could be held, the Governor-GeneralLord Northcote refused. Unable to command a majority in the House of Representatives, Watson resigned the premiership less than four months after taking office, his term ending on 18 August 1904″
At that time the Solar Arc MC was square radix Uranus with a 00 degree 2′ orb.
The Uranus of this chart is trine Australia’s Swearing-In Ascendant and conjunct Australia’s Chiron – a good contact that suggests the Labor Prime Ministers can be innovative and bring beneficial change.
Its Mars is quincunx Australia’s Uranus-Vertex – a difficult, stressful contact that shows that Labor Prime Ministers often are in office in times of pressure for Australia. It can also describe the Unions, which have been both an asset and thorn in the side of this Party’s Prime Ministers.
The possible Ascendant-Descendant of this chart straddles Australia’s antiVertex-Vertex, with the Descendant also conjoining Australia’s Venus-Uranus. Whenever there is a Vertex axis straddling the Ascendant axis in any form of relationship there is a very strong ‘destined’ connection. This possible Ascendant-Descendant is also in square to Australia’s radix Mars, indicating some very strong battles between Australia itself and the Prime Ministers of the Federal Labor Party – Gough Whitlam’s dismissal comes to mind.
The Moon-Node of this chart is in square to Australia’s Mercury-Jupiter-Chiron. The Moon-Node itself gives an very nice connection to the Australian Public, the square to the above planets in Australia’s chart increases the communication, but often gives too much communication – as was seen in the Rudd and Gillard governments.

There are several strong connections:
The Sun of John Christian Watson’s Swearing in chart is Parallel the Pluto in Australia’s chart at 13 north declination. An intense connection but it does give prominence as well as considerable power-play. There is also a Sun parallel Pluto in the radix chart for this event.
Ceres in this chart is in close parallel with Australia’s MC. I find it fascinating that this Party gave Australia its first female Prime Minister, Julia Gillard – who has Ceres conjunct the Descendant in her natal chart.
Uranus is parallel Australia’s Sun-Jupiter-Mercury – a powerful connection that enables the Prime Ministers’ of the Federal Labor Party to be very progressive and make changes in Australia’s laws.
We also have the possible Descendant paralllel Australia’s Saturn-Vertex – a destined connection.
Secondary Progressions:
If I have the correct time for the taking of the first Swearing-in of a Labor Prime Minister, this secondary progressed chart doesn’t look too promising at it has the Ascendant in a ‘disaster degree’ of 1 Scorpio with Mars square; this suggests a time of conflict rather than easy flow.
The SP Descendant has just moved past a conjunction to Jupiter so the benefits this might have brought are over.
The SP MC is in Cancer so the position of its ruler, the SP Moon is very important. This is in Scorpio, suggesting people are feeling rather intense and, with no easy applying aspects and an applying square to Saturn, not very hopeful or enthusiastic.
On the plus side, SP Node is sextile SP MC and trine SP Part of Fortune – both very helpful for interconnection with the public.
Again, if I have the correct time for the Swearing-In, SP Vertex is conjoining radix Jupiter – a good augury for a destined Prime Minister.
The secondary progressions of the two Swearing-In charts for the first Liberal and Labor Prime Ministers, shows the Liberal one is by far the most successful suggesting Malcolm Turnbull will win. However, if the times for the Oath taking are wrong, this could be over turned.
This is a double election as Australians will be voting for both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
For this article I will place my main attention on the leaders of the Liberal Party, Malcolm Turnbull and Labor Party Bill Shorten, and their connections to Australia’s chart.
Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten’s connection to Australia’s chart.
Here is the political chart for Australia using Koch houses; it is the chart of the time the first oath was taken by our first Prime Minister, Edmund Barton, at 1.35 pm on 1st January 1901, Sydney, Australia. Any potential Prime Minister of Australia must have close connections to this chart both through zodiac longitude and declinations.

As you can see, Australia has a lot of planets in both North and South high declination so prospective leaders should have at leas one placement conjoining these declinations.
This is the chart of the current leader of the Liberal Party, Malcolm Turnbull, born on the 24th October 1954 at 9.11.15 am, Sydney, NSW, Australia. We are unable to find any record of his birth time so the chart has been rectified by Australian astrologer Jill Amery. This chart is responsive to events in Malcolm Turnbull’s life and is therefore a good ‘working chart’.
Malcolm is a self-made multi millionaire ($133 million), which is partially shown by his Jupiter-Uranus conjunction conjoining and making a midpoint to his Koch 8th cusp.
Notice that Malcolm has
his Sun conjunct Australia’s Descendant;
his possible Vertex conjunct Australia’s Moon;
his possible Ascendant and Node conjunct Australia’s Sun-Saturn and
his Venus conjunct Australia’s North Node. Many Prime Ministers of Australia have a planet or placement conjoining Australia’s North Node so this is very important.
These connections to Australia’s Swearing-In chart suggests he will be of benefit to this nation.
Furthermore, his Mars conjoins Australia’s MC, suggests that he will be very active and surprisingly “martial” with a strong social conscience, if elected.
The parallel of declinations also show good contacts: Note that Turnbull’s Ascendant-North Node is parallel Australia’s Vertex-Saturn-Sun-Jupiter at 23 degrees Southern Declination. As both Australia and Turnbull were born in the Southern Hemisphere, this is even more powerful.
Malcolm Turnbull is already the Prime Minister of Australia by virtue of being the leader of the Liberal Party, but has not been elected to this position by the populace of Australia. This election will confirm whether or not Australians want him as Prime Minister.

Bill has a very strong connection of Sun-Mercury to Australia’s Moon and his own Moon conjoins Australia’s Pluto. However, he doesn’t have a planet on Australia’s North Node and, as this has been a consistent placement with the Prime Ministers, it may handicap him attaining this position.
Nor does Bill Shorten have planets parallel the important Vertex-Saturn-Sun-Jupiter in Australia’s chart, making it even less likely he will attain the position of Prime Minister. However, he does have his North Node parallel Australia’s Pluto, giving him considerable power in this land.
His time of birth could give angles connecting to Australia’s chart both in zodiac longitude and parallel of declination so this could bring a closer synastry.
Australia’s Progressions and Solar Arcs for the election.
The next step is to see if Australia’s Progressions and Solar Arcs for the time of the election connect to the natal charts of the two leaders.
Here is Australia’s Secondary Progressed Chart:
I am using the parallax Moon, the ‘normal’ Moon is at 17Leo09.
There is a grand fire trine between the rising Moon, Uranus and Mercury in this chart so if candidates, leaders or either Party have placements at 16-17 fire, this should be very helpful.
The Moon is sextile Pluto and both are inconjunct Saturn, suggesting a period of considerable strain and pressure.
Notice that the progressed MC-IC have just changed from fixed to mutable signs, indicating a lot more flexibility and communication on the part of our leaders is possible. These progressed angles are conjunct Australia’s radix nodal axis suggesting some powerful and important connections are being made. I find it fascinating that when Malcolm Turnbull became Prime Minister on 15th September 2015, the secondary progressed IC was conjunct his natal Venus.
Does this Secondary Progressed chart connect to the charts of our leaders?
In Malcolm Turnbull’s case, Australia’s SP Mars conjoins his natal Pluto in the 9th house. This probably describes the massive effort on Turnbull’s part to persuade Australia to accept him.
The SP MC is trine his natal Mars, also indicating success for him as Ebertin, in the Combination of Stellar Influences, says this gives advancement in career.
In Bill Shorten’s case Australia’s SP Node conjoins his natal Neptune. Neptune, Pisces and/or 12th house is often very active in the charts of politicians so this could describe a strong connection to the Australian people. It could also describe some secret or deception coming to light. This configuration is being activated by transiting Mars on election day. At the moment I can’t think how it will work, so will observe with great interest.
Here are Australia’s Solar Arcs:
The Mars-Part of Fortune straddle Malcolm Turnbull‘s rectified Ascendant, indicating considerable benefit for him. SA Mars is also just in orb of Turnbull’s North Node – again suggesting entering into a union with Australia.
Without his time of birth I can see no activation of Bill Shorten’s chart.
The final step is to see if the progressions and directions of the charts of Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten connect to Australia’s chart.
Malcolm Turnbull’s Progressions and Directions
Here are Malcolm Turnbull’s Secondary Progressions around Australia’s chart.
Some very good contacts are shown:
Malcolm’s SP Moon is conjunct Australia’s Jupiter. An excellent augury for success.
Malcolm’s SP Ceres conjoins Australia’s Uranus-Vertex. I am not sure how Ceres works in politics so will have to observe what happens. It suggests to me that he gains the support of powerful women.
Malcolm’s SP Sun is inconjunct Australia’s IC. Inconjuncts always indicate a time of change and require flexibility and adjustment.
His Solar Arcs have even stronger connections:
Notice Malcolm’s Solar Arc Venus conjoining Australia’s MC – a powerful indicator of benefit and success.
Solar Arc Moon conjoining Australia’s North Node. We have already seen how important this placement is for aspiring leaders and how beneficial it is for Malcolm to have his natal Venus conjunct this node. This Solar Arc considerably increases his appeal to the public and to women.
Solar Arc Descendant conjunct Australia’s Part of Fortune. This can only be fortunate!
Solar Arc Pluto conjunct Australia’s Descendant: Malcolm is most probably Scorpio, so this would increase his connection to Australia but also suggest considerable power games in play.
Bill Shorten’s Progressions and Directions
The configuration I first noticed was Shorten’s SP Sun opposing Australia’s Saturn. This doesn’t seem good to me as it indicates a great deal of pressure. Shorten’s SP Jupiter is inconjunct to Saturn as well. I don’t know whether two benefics in aspect to Australia’s Saturn will bring benefit to him, but to me it seems difficult.
In addition Bill’s SP Saturn is inconjunct Australia’s Mars. A very stressful combination. As we don’t know Bill’s time of birth we don’t know where the P Moon is.
Bill Shorten’s Solar Arcs:
The strongest Solar Arc I can see is Bill’s SA Neptune conjunct Australia’s Sun. Neptune is very prominent in politics so this could be a good thing – it certainly suggests a high level of media interest.
As we don’t know his time of birth we don’t know if his SA Moon is actually conjunct the IC. If it is this is a good indicator as people respond to placements that activate the IC-MC axis.
Overall, most of these techniques greatly favour the success of Malcolm Turnbull as leader, though Bill Shorten’s time of birth may change this.

Anyone who has an impact on a country will have powerful connections to the chart of that country.
The Prime Minister or President of a country will have particular connections to the chart of the first Oath of Office.
In the case of Australia, this is the Swearing-In chart of the 1st January 1901 at 1.35 pm, Sydney, Australia, when Sir Edmund Barton took the first Oath of Office.
Synastry is the first step in determining how a person will relate to a country. Here we have Australia’s Swearing-In chart on the inside and Tony Abbott’s natal chart on the outside.
As Australia has Aries rising the first step is to find where Tony Abbott’s Mars is in relation to Australia’s chart. We can see it is in Australia’s 6th house and conjunct the Descendant, indicating Abbott wants to be of service to this country.
We can also see that Abbott’s Mars/Neptune makes a midpoint with Australia’s Descendant. This can be a plus and a minus – one usually finds Neptune or Pisces prominent in matters to do with politics as it is a global energy that particularly resonates to the socio-economic areas, in addition it can add to Abbott’s particular charisma for Australia. However, if it afflicts anything in Australia’s chart, it can indicate lying or undermining the country in some way; in Abbott’s case his Neptune is square Australia’s MC-IC. The result of this is already shown through Abbott breaking election promise after election promise, starting straight after he took office and then bringing in a budget that attacked the ill and helpless of Australia. As his Neptune is in Australia’s 7th house and afflicting its angles, perhaps he is really an enemy of the country he has sworn to protect.
Neptune is part of Abbott’s YOD and his oriental planet, so it is very powerful. The apex of his YOD, the Moon, is in Australia’s 12th house, indicating secrets and perhaps lies as well. The other planet involved, Pluto, is in Australia’s 5th house and one of the areas he wishes to cut to the bone is the education of our children.
Abbott has his Saturn conjunct and at the midpoint of Australia’s Venus/Uranus-Vertex. It is clear that this is a Prime Minister who wishes to cut spending as much as possible and particularly social services spending, which fits his Saturn conjunct Australia’s Venus, ruler of Australia’s second, six and 7th houses.
His Saturn conjunct Uranus, the ruler of Australia’s MC, also indicates the desire to structure and rule Australia in a conservative, right wing fashion.
Abbott’s Saturn conjunct Australia’s Vertexindicates a destined and conservative/restrictive connection to this country.
Fortunately the current transit of Jupiter trine Australia’s Uranus-Vertex and Abbott’s Saturn, which finishes in May 2015, will protect Australia from the worst excesses of Abbott’s desire to cut spending. This has already shown in his back-down on cuts to some of the social services – particularly those of youth unemployment and old age pensions.
In my previous article I mentioned that Abbott had a Saturn-Pluto contra-parallel, which increases his ruthlessness and desire to control, particularly in the above mentioned areas.
Abbott’s IC conjunct Australia’s Sun
A very interesting configuration indicating Australia will see Abbott as a leader. It echoes former Prime Minister Howard’s Sun-Pluto conjunct Australia’s IC.
In addition to this, Abbott has hisUranus quincunx Australia’s Sun suggesting an number of changes and adjustments throughout his term of office.
A very nice configuration indeed. The Magi astrologers say Venus-Chiron gives a combined destiny and a charismatic relationship, it is one of the strongest of all connections and helps form enduring bonds. Venus-Mercuryis excellent for all forms of communication. This should be greatly enhanced when transiting Jupiter trines in July-August 2015.
Venus is also trine Australia’s Ascendant, indicating that many Australians like him.
Venus is opposite Australia’s Neptune. Neptune is a very active player in politics so this suggests both his interest in writing about politics and his ability ‘to play the game’ It can also describe over idealism and deception.
Abbott’s Pluto is square Australia’s Moons Nodes. This describes his position of power in Australia, particularly as Pluto rules his own Scorpio North Node and Sun. The square brings upheavals and intense power-plays both on a national and international level.
Tony was born in between a total Solar and total lunar eclipse. This can make him very psychic, but I don’t think he would value this ability – perhaps it works as good intuition. The Solar Eclipse was at 29Libra29, conjunct Australia’s Descendant. Venus in the eclipse chart was at 14Sagittarius49, conjunct Australia’s Uranus-Vertex. The lunar eclipse at 14Taurus31 was quincunx Australia’s Uranus-Vertex.
These eclipses give him a very strong tie to Australia.
Duad Charts
These are very important in assessing connections to a country or person. The Duad chart of a person will often give exact degree connections to the radix chart of a country, and vice versa.

The duad angles move very fast, so we can really be certain of them until we have Abbott’s exact time of birth, never-the-less it is interesting that for the 4.00 am time, his duad Vertex is in partile conjunction with Australia’s radix Uranus-Vertex, and his duad Uranus in the same sign as Australia’s radix Uranus. To me, this indicates a powerful destiny with Australia, particularly as Uranus is the modern ruler of Australia’s MC.
Australia’s Ascendant on the midpoint of Abbott’s duad Moon/Saturn
Quite an inhibiting connection, probably describing the lack of women in Abbott’s cabinet and the general tendency to inhibit women in Australia. It could also describe Australian women’s general discomfort with Abbott.
Abbott’s Duad Neptune conjunct Australia’s North Node
This brings us back to the deceptive influence that we found with Abbott’s natal Neptune square Australia’s MC-IC. It can also describe important associations of a Neptunian kind.
Abbott’s duad IC conjunct Australia’s radix Moon
An interesting configuration given Abbott’s discomfort with women. Perhaps it describes his public impact on Australia, but I also think it could describe an important connection to a woman or women of Australia.

It seems that overall Australia will benefit Abbott with its Duad Jupiter and Duad Venus straddling his Ascendant-Descendant and square his MC. This combination is particularly beneficial as it sextiles and trines his Uranus. This is a wealthy and fortunate configuration.
Australia’s duad Saturn is conjunct Abbott’s natal Moon.
This brings him restriction and asks him to fully think through and really know what he is doing in all areas of service. It is an important connection because the Moon rules Abbott’s MC. Saturn will give rewards if you are expert, but will bring considerable problems if you aren’t.

Perhaps giving Abbott power and association with the Plutocrats of Australia.
Australia’s duad Ceres conjunct Abbott’s natal Sun-Node in Scorpio.
A really interesting connection as Ceres usually rules powerful or queenly women. It would suggest an Australian woman of this type has a profound influence on him.
So Abbott and Australia have the required strong connections in synastry and duad synastry showing Abbott’s impact on this country.
Midpoints
Tony’s Sun-Node = Australia’s Sun-Mars at 10Scorpio52. Ebertin says “The desire to become a person of importance; desire for recognition; desire to establish oneself in a community” This has certainly happened. The Prime Minister is definitely a ‘person of importance’.
Tony’s Mars = Australia’s Mars/Uranus-Vertex at 28Libra. A very energetic and explosive configuration. I am sure it will bring a number of upsets when this point is transited.
Tony’s Saturn = Australia’s Venus/Uranus-Vertex at 12Sagittarius40. A strange one to have for a leader. It can give estrangement and separation. As Venus rules the 6th house and Uranus the 10th I think it describes Tony’s desire to control the workers of this country.
Tony’s Pluto = Australia’s Moon/Uranus-Vertex at 2Pisces30. This can be extremely self willed and fanatical. It possibly describes his constant ‘foot in the mouth’ when he talks about women. Other than that, it describes his desire to make radical changes and the likelihood of this deeply upsetting the populace.
Declinations
These are always very important in synastry and have been overlooked for far too long. Declination contacts between a country and its leader will often most aptly describe the association. There are almost always several strong connections between the relevant charts.
Tony has several declination connections with Australia:
Tony’s Saturn parallel Australia’s Venus-Node at 20-21 South declination. This could work either way – his Saturn could stabilize the economy, or bring severe restrictions. As both are in Australia’s 9th house, he could bring in restrictive laws – particularly in the ‘Work Choices’ area as Venus is the ruler of Australia’s 6th house. It is a rather depressive combination, but could indicate a long term association.
This combination is currently receiving a long term Pluto declination transit. This activating Australia’s Venus-Node suggests a Plutonian or Scorpio influence and Abbott is a Scorpio.
The transiting declination of Pluto on Abbott’s Saturn increases the ruthlessness already shown by his natal Saturn contra-parallel Pluto.
Mercury is parallel Australia’s Chiron at 17-18 South Declination. Quite a good combination as it increases his ability to communicate with Australians. However, his communication could be ‘wounding’ at times.
This is currently being transiting by a Saturn declination – stressful for Australia and requiring careful thought and skilled planning for Abbott.
Chiron-Neptune are parallel Australia’s Descendant at 10-11 South declination. This echoes the Mars-Chiron-Neptune conjunction mentioned in the synastry section. Mars-Neptune can give charisma, as can Chiron-Neptune, so this could make him quite appealing to Australians. It could also describe his ‘action man’ image and with Neptune involved, the ‘budgie smuggler’ photographs of him swimming and coming out of the sea.
Mars-Chiron-Neptune are also contraparallel Australia’s Mars at 10N09’50”. This is an important aspect as Mars is ruler of Australia’s Ascendant. It would give the desire to take action rather than sit around discussing a situation and this could work both positively and negatively at times. It is an aggressive and deceptive combination that I don’t like very much.
Uranus parallel Australia’s Moon. A rather nervy, unsettling energy, perhaps describing why women don’t really trust him. As Uranus can be quite retroactive at times, it could describe his far right wing approach to the roles of women in Australia.
Pluto parallel and on the parallel midpoint of Australia’s South Node and Neptune. I am not sure how this would work, but it could certainly describe upheavals and at times group disasters. It is a particularly potent configuration as it further emphasizes his Pluto square Australia’s Nodes. I really don’t like it very much at all.
I.C. parallel Australia’s Sun-Vertex. A destined leadership connection with Australia that is very powerful. This parallel is only active if his time of birth is close to accurate.
The Combined Charts
These frequently describe the union of the leader of a country and the country so can’t be overlooked.
I will use two types, (a) The Midpoint chart and (b) the Davison chart.
The Midpoint composite chart

This is the chart of the halfway point or midpoint of each point in Australia and Abbott’s radix charts i.e. the midpoint of the two Suns, the two Moons, the two Ascendants, the two Midheavens … and so on. It is the most commonly used combined chart and responds well to transits.
The Moon, the ruler of the Ascendant, conjunct the MC suggests this combination will have a strong public focus and in Aries somewhat aggressive and perhaps pioneering. How this works will depend upon the aspects to the Moon and MC.
Moon square Pluto: A very strong, intense aspect as they are both on angles, with Pluto rising in Cancer and the Moon conjunct the MC in Aries. This describes quite a few problems both with the public and with women. Interestingly, after Abbott was elected and started breaking his election promises there were huge marches involved many, many thousands of people in most capital and some regional cities against his government. These stopped traffic for quite a while but weren’t mentioned or only briefly mentioned in any of the mainstream media.
Ebertin in ‘Combination of Stellar Influences” says of this aspect “The pursuit of selected objectives with fanatical zeal and with subsequent attainment without any regard for other people” which certainly seems to be what Abbott is doing, particularly with the young, the elderly and the ill.
This combination will be receiving hard Uranus transits in 2016-2017 so it is likely there will be exposures and upsets . Transiting Pluto moves to the combined Descendant in 2017 as well, so it seems probable that his association with Australia will go through major upheavals.
Moon is separating trine from Saturn: This is sensible, practical and excellent for building upon tradition. As Saturn is in the 6th house of workers, it should help him implement structures and laws connected to this area. Abbott is very much a right wing traditionalist/royalist so this aspect describes a reasonably easy application of his principles.
Saturn is quincunx Pluto: A ruthless combination that echoes Abbott’s natal Saturn-Pluto contraparallel. It does give considerable tenacity but the quincunx requires a number of adjustments if he wishes to attain his goals.
The Moon, Saturn and Pluto make up a Pythagorean Triangle, normally a fortunate pattern involving a trine, square and quincunx which is common in the charts of comedians and those with a sense of humour; however, the planets involved in this chart are intense and difficult to combine happily. I think it describes a number of attempts to implement policies with marginal success that requires considerable adjustment.
This pattern can also describe Abbott’s ruthless destruction of Pauline Hanson, a Queensland politician whose One Nation Party threatened the success of the Liberal Party during elections.
There is quite a bit more in this combined chart – the Jupiter-Node conjunction in Scorpio suggests a successful union, its trine to Pluto is the success syndrome par excellence and straddling the Koch 5th cusp suggests pleasure and good fortune; the Part of Fortune-Mercury-Sun-Venus-Saturnrolling conjunction in Sagittarius in the 5th/6th houses also indicate gain and success; the out of sign grand trine involving Moon-Saturn-Neptune in the earth houses should eventually benefit Australia on a practical level but not without some sorrow.
Perhaps the Mars-Uranus in the third house describes his very aggressive connection to the media and his use of ‘shock jocks’ to get his own way. I also think it will make Australia rather accident prone with transport and vehicles whilst Abbott is in power. It could also give clashes with our near neighbours.
Tony Abbott achieved his long term ambition to become Prime Minister of Australia as transiting Jupiter moved to conjoin and transiting Neptune was sesiquadrate this combined Ascendant.
The Davison Chart
This chart is the halfway point between the two birth dates, times and places. It is not as commonly used as the Midpoint chart, but is very accurate and responds to progressions, directions, lunations and transits very well.

This is a powerful chart with connections to both ‘birth’ charts. If a combined chart is connected to either or both birth charts it has quite and impact on the people involved.

The Davison chart Saturn, traditional ruler of Australia’s MC, is conjunct Abbott’s Venus, ruler of his Ascendant. This suggests considerable restriction and control in his financial plans for Australia as well as long term planning; as both fall in the Davison charts 12th house it suggests there will be some restriction involving institutions.
The Davison chart MC conjunct Abbott’s Mars: This can be a war combination and is certainly aggressive; in Libra it suggests tactical skill being used. Abbott has already involved Australia in a war against ISAL and will probably follow a rather aggressive path in many areas. This is further enhanced by Davison Mars conjunct Abbott’s Uranus and square his Sun – a very unsettling aspect indicating a number of changes and upsets.
Further close contacts are Davison Uranus conjunct Abbott’s Ascendant; Davison Moon conjunct Abbott’s Vertex; Davison Chiron conjunct Abbott’s South Node, opposite his Sun and square his Uranus – all very unsettling aspects that strongly affect Abbott.

The chart for the Oath of the first President of the United States of America i.e. POTUS is the swearing-in chart of George Washington. This occurred on the 30th April 1749 at 12.45 pm LMT New York, NY, USA. (source Lorenzo Smerillo)
Rectification by Day Age Harmonics suggests this occurred at 12.45.07 pm.
This chart responds very well to all election and government situations or events in the USA. For example, when the Twin Towers were attacked and subsequently collapsed on 11th September 2001 at 8.46 am EDT, New York, NY, the MC was conjunct the Moon of POTUS, Mars on POTUS Koch 5th cusp was quincunx its 12th house cusp Uranus, the Descendant was conjunct POTUS Mars and Venus was opposite POTUS Pluto, ruler of its IC. There were a number of other contacts as well.

I have found that many Presidents of the USA have a close connection to this chart and particularly to the progressions and directions at the time of their elections. I will cover the last three, President Clinton, President Bush and President Obama.
President Bill Clinton
Was born on the 19th August 1946, 8.51 am Hope, Arkansas, latitude 33N40’01” longitude 93W35’29”
You can immediately see several close connections to the POTUS chart. Clinton’s Moon, ruler of his MC, is conjunct POTUS Midheaven and in partile trine to its Vertex as well as sextile its Saturn; Clinton’s North Node is conjunct POTUS 10th house Chiron; Clinton’s Sun conjunct POTUS Ascendant – and many more.
We must never overlook parallels of declination in synastry and events as they are a very powerful focus.
You can see that Bill Clinton has a Node-Uranus-MC-Pluto parallel at close to 23N00 which gave him a brilliant career; this ties into POTUS Pluto at 23S25. Also note that Clinton’s Moon is parallel POTUS Sun at 15N00 and his Sun parallel POTUS Ascendant. There are many more parallels as well, giving him a very strong connection to the POTUS chart, which suggests that the Presidency was possible.
The duad charts can also show close and powerful connections between a President and the POTUS chart. Here is the chart of POTUS with Clinton’s duads in the outer wheel. Note the powerful connection of Clinton’s duad Vertex-antiVertex straddling the POTUS nodes and his duad Neptune-Pluto quincunx POTUS Midheaven.
Bill Clinton has a number of very close connections to the POTUS chart, indicating he was a viable candidate for the Presidency. His and POTUS progressions and directions should be able to show when he was elected.
Bill Clinton was elected President of the United States on 3rd November 1992 and took his Oath of Office as the 42 President of the USA on 20th January 1993.
POTUS Secondary Progressions
This was a powerful time for the Inauguration chart as there was a Secondary Progressed Sun square both SP Ascendant and radix Ascendant and also conjunct radix North Node. This suggests someone with a prominent Sun or the sign Leo would be an important person at this time.
The SP South Node was conjunct Clinton’s Moon, ruler of his MC and the SP Venus-Ceres square Clinton’s Venus and quincunx his Pluto.
But it is the Secondary Progressed POTUS declinations that really tell the story with its Descendant-Jupiter parallel to Clinton’s natal Sun; Mars parallel Clinton’s Moon and IC parallel Clinton’s North Node, plus several other important parallels.

Tony Abbott was born on the 4th November 1957 at approximately 4.00 am in Lambeth, London, United Kingdom to a first generation Australian mother and English father, Fay (nee Peters) and Richard (Dick) Abbott.
The source of his time of birth is his mother. (Data Source: Astrologer Ed Tamplin quotes his former Sirius student and current AANSW member, Sally Davis. She claims that she spoke to Tony’s father Richard who in turn spoke to Tony’s mother Fay. They said 4 am was the closest that they could remember.)
Together with his parents he emigrated to Sydney, Australia through assisted passage (10 Pound Poms) on the ship Oronsay on 7th September 1960, when he was two years old. He has three younger sisters, one born in England the others in Australia.
He attended Jesuit schools in Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Economics at Sydney University where he was also an active right wing student politician and boxer. 1977 was his year of scandal where he was accused of assault and sexual harassment, perhaps this was indicated by transiting Pluto in Libra square the natal MC, or, if his birth was later, conjunct his Libra Ascendant.
Upon graduating he attended the Queen’s College at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and gained a Bachelor of Arts and later a Master of Arts in Politics and Economics.
“This is to certify that Anthony John Abbott has qualified for the degree of Bachelor of Arts, having taken in June 1983 the Final Honour School of Philosophy, Politics and Economic (PPE) and been placed in the Second Class.“
His parents applied to register his birth with the Dept. of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs and apply for his citizenship, in a document/s dated 19 June 1981 shortly after Tony had been told he had won a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford, England. They were notified by letter dated 1st July 1981 that Tony John Abbott had become an Australian citizen under section 11 of the Australian Citizenship Act of 1948. From this time on he was a dual citizen of Australia and the UK.
When he returned to Sydney he entered the Jesuit Seminary at Manly and spend three years training to be a Jesuit priest before realising this wasn’t his vocation.
He entered into politics for the seat of Warringah in March 1994.
On the 18th September 2013 at 10.29.01 am, Canberra, Australia, Tony Abbott was sworn in as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia.
I haven’t as yet properly rectified his chart so will use the 4.00 am chart as transiting Saturn, ruler of IC, was transiting IC and the diurnal IC was conjunct Mercury, ruler of 9th house, on the day he migrated.
Career Focus
Sun-Node conjunction in Scorpio in trine to his Midheaven.
This configuration will give prominence (Sun) in a group (North Node) in the career (MC). At the time of his victory transiting Saturn was conjoining the Sun-Node and trine the MC, indicating the responsibility of his position. This transit started in January 2013 and finished in October 2013. The Sun-Node conjunction was further activated by a Solar Eclipse on 3rd November 2013 and transiting North Node returning to its natal position at the time of the election. Eclipses connected to the natal Sun often give considerable prominence in life. Eclipses will work at least six months before and after the date they occurred.
This Sun-North Node conjunction gives strong compulsive/instinctual tendencies as well as the ability to activate this in others.
A period of prominence is particularly shown by his Sun Dasha which is active between November 2012 to November 2018.
He was born between a total Solar Eclipse on 23rd October 1957 and a total lunar eclipse on 7th November 1957; I have noticed that people born between eclipses often have interesting psychic abilities.
The Sun-Node conjunction is square Uranus in fixed signs.
This is one of the most stubborn configurations one can have in a natal chart. Tony Abbott’s Libra Ascendant might give the impression of being malleable and agreeable, but there is no way on earth he will change his mind once it is made up. Sun square Uranus gives the radical rebel, it can produce someone who rebels against tradition or someone who rebels against modern thought and wants to go back to very ‘traditional’ behaviour. Tony Abbott, with his history of extreme right in the Liberal Party, his early training to be a Jesuit priest and his support of the Constitutional Monarchy in Australia, is clearly one of the latter types.
This configuration will always bring radical change of some kind and Abbott will certainly attempt to bring radical changes into the Australian Constitution if he can. He started by abolishing the Climate Change Commission, calling it ‘absolute crap’ just two days into his Prime Ministership. As Australia has one of the driest climates in the world and one of the most delicate ecologies, this has shocked the international community.
This aspect earned him the title “The Mad Monk” when he was training at the Jesuit seminary. Uranus can often be reactionary and in his case it gives him the desire to bring back the old Roman Catholic values and to inflict them on Australia.
The Sun is also conjunct Mercury, ruler of the 9th house, showing his religious tendencies, his studies overseas and his journalistic abilities.
Career Flow chart.
The ruler of the MC, the Moon, is in Aries and in the 6th house.
The 6th house is often emphasised in the charts of politicians, showing the desire to be of service to the community.
The Moon is part of a close YOD Pattern also involving Neptune and Pluto, a strange combination at best and made particularly powerful as Neptune is his oriental planet. Ebertin in his book “The Combination of Stellar Influences” says: ” Strange states of soul experiences; a very high degree of sensitiveness; changes of mood; an immediate response to every influence; supernatural experiences; a peculiar or strange woman.” I am not sure how this directly impacts Abbott’s career, but we do know that he is very wary of women, has been abusive and very sexist towards them and perhaps is afraid of them. Most Australian women don’t trust him at all.
If we follow his career flow the Moon is in Aries, ruled by Mars, which is conjunct the antiVertex, indicating a destiny connected to his career. Mars is in Libra, indicating a skilled tactician and in the Leo duad of Libra, giving prominence. It is conjunct Neptune and perhaps this indicates his considerable ability to lie convincingly.
As you can see from the Dasha table above, all these career planets are emphasised, starting with the Sun dasha in November 2012, then the Moon and then Mars – taking us right through until November 2035. I doubt he will be Prime Minister past the Sun dasha which ends in 2018, but I think that the other periods will also give him a powerful focus in the world.
Continuing with the career flow chart, Mars in Libra is ruled by Venus in Sagittarius in the third house. Abbott was a journalist before he became a politician and it is likely this position indicates his journalistic skills. Venus is in the Scorpio duad of Sagittarius, giving him quite a sting in what he says and writes as well as considerable ruthlessness and fanaticism. It might also describe his association with the ‘shock jocks’ of Sydney. Venus is considerably Out of Bounds making him a maverick who dances to the beat of his own drum; this, coupled with the Sun-Uranus square, suggests he is very self-willed and will always do what he wishes regardless of other’s advice.
Venus in Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter in Libra, which is also conjunct the anti-Vertex, again giving a destined career focus. Jupiter is in the Taurus section of Libra gives an orientation to business and public relations. There is a mutual reception between Venus and Jupiter, increasing good fortune and indicating beneficial contacts are very helpful in the career.
Declinations
Declinations are very important in astrology and particularly so in forecasting.
Neptune parallel Chiron at 10-11 South declination.
Magi astrologers call this the “Cinderella Aspect” and say in can describe a considerable rise in life. Abbott has always had a rather privileged life, with the best schools and many opportunities given to him through his religious connections, but Prime Minister of Australia is a considerable rise.
Mars is also parallel Chiron and Neptune
This gives Abbott charisma and, as he is Mars ruled with the Moon in Aries and the Sun in Scorpio, considerably increases his energy and particularly his sexual energy because Mars-Neptune is a super sexual aspect. Magi astrologers say that Mars-Chiron is a signature in sports champions and Abbott has an Oxford Blue in boxing.
Saturn-Pluto contraparallel at 20-21 NS declination.
Abbott is noted for his absolute ruthlessness. Ebertin in “The Combination of Stellar Influences” says of this aspect: “Cold heartedness, severity, a tendency to violence, fanatical adherence to one principles, a martyr. The Magi astrologers say that though this combination gives an interest in big business and dream about being the masters of the universe, these people are not suited to this area and are better at teaching or research.
Moon is parallel the Descendant, giving a strong connection to the public, something that is very necessary for a politician.
Mercury is contraparallel Uranus suggesting flashes of brilliance, but also erratic mental processes, tactlessness and at times, brutal frankness.

* When a baby is born naturally its Moon will trigger the Ascendant-Descendant or duads of Ascendant-Descendant of at least one of the parents.
To date, I find this works about 90% of the time and is one of the first things I check to see if the birth was natural. Once in a while this is vice versa i.e. the duad of the Moon of the child will be the same as the sign on the Ascendant or Descendant of one of the parents, though this occurs more often with induced births.
* There is a high percentage of connection between the MC-IC or their duads of the child and the Sun or Moon of at least one of the parents.
It is a very high percentage, though I don’t think it is as high as the Moon-Ascendant/Descendant connection. Sometimes the MC-IC or their duads echo these angles in a grandparent or older sibling’s chart.
This hardly ever occurs when a child is born through medical assistance. It is really fascinating to see which members of the family echo your Equivalent House Degrees. I think this gives a strong tie between you and these people.
These connections even occur in premature births that are natural, so if these connections aren’t present, then it is safe to say the birth was medically assisted and the person is out of sync. with the energies of conception to a greater or lesser extent.

This is the most fascinating, wondrous way of using Age Harmonics.
It is so very accurate to the point that you can refine your time of birth to the second if you have enough life events.
Daily Age Harmonics are calculated for the exact day of an event.
The Daily Age Harmonic chart will always trigger the angles of the natal chart and/or the Daily Age Harmonic chart at the time of important events in the life.
Daily Age Harmonic charts can be read as stand alone charts but they are particularly effective when compared to the radix or Year Harmonic charts.

Libra MC
Year Age Harmonic with natal chart
In this chart you can see some very strong and exact triggers:
Age Harmonic Mercury is conjunct natal Vertex, indicating a time of destiny. As Mercury is ruler of the 7th house, this is a time of destiny connected to marriage.
Age Harmonic Uranus is quincunx natal Vertex and Age Harmonic Mercury. The quincunx shows in anything to do with change in the life;
Age Harmonic North Node is square natal North Node in the 7th house. The Moon’s Nodes are almost always involved in marriage as the Nodes describe associations and family matters.
Age Harmonic MC is conjunct natal Mars in Libra.
Age Harmonic Mars is quincunx Age Harmonic Chiron in natal 7th house. The Magi astrologers connect Chiron to marriage so this fits very well.
Day Age Harmonic
There are several exact triggers in this chart:
Neptune, the ruler of the 7th house, is conjunct the North Node in Cancer in the 11th house. This is quite fitting for a public and very sociable wedding.
Jupiter, the traditional ruler of the 7th house, is conjunct Ceres – the Queen! In the 6th house, perhaps a commoner being elevated to a Princess and possibly a Queen.
The MC is opposite Mercury, the ruler of the natal 7th house.
Pluto is trine MC, describing the global impact of this event and the powerful people attending the wedding.

The number of exact triggers of the Daily Age Harmonic to natal are amazing:

So we know Prince William has a very close to exact time of birth because of all the angles, including the Vertex axis, being activated by the Daily Age Harmonic, and particularly by factors related to the 7th house. If his time of birth was out by even half a minute, this would not occur.
Relationship Harmonics
In an event like a marriage or association of any kind, the Age Harmonic of one person usually triggers the natal chart of the other.
To Illustrate I will use the birthdate of the now Duchess of Cambridge, neé Kate Middleton, born on 9th January 1982 in Reading, UK.
We don’t have her birth time as yet. Speculative times are for 11.15 am and 11.33 pm, but there is no proof for either time. The 11.15 am time responds well to various forms of prediction.
For convenience I will use the time she took her marriage vows at 11.20 am for her natal chart and compare her Age Harmonics for the marriage on 29th April 2011 to Prince William’s natal chart.
Catherine Middleton’s 29th year age harmonic with Prince William’s natal chart on inside.
Even without a correct time of birth for Catherine (so we can’t consider the angles or the Moon in this harmonic), there are a number of quite powerful connections:
Catherine’s harmonic Jupiter is in trine to William’s Part of Marriage at 29 Capricorn.
Catherine’s harmonic Uranus is conjunct and her harmonic Mars is square William’s Jupiter – perhaps describing the tension leading up to the marriage, but also describing the enormous change in tradition.
Catherine’s harmonic Saturn in William’s natal 7th house in trine to his natal MC. If Catherine’s natal Saturn is in her natal 7th house this fits very nicely.
Catherine’s harmonic Venus conjunct William’s Part of Fortune.
If Catherine was born a few minutes earlier, her harmonic Moon would be conjunct William’s natal Vertex — and this seems very likely.
Prince William with Catherine’s Daily Age Harmonic for Wedding
Even without her time of birth, Catherine’s exact Daily Age Harmonic connections with Prince William’s natal chart are numerous.
The connections to William’s natal 7th house Moon are very pronounced:
Catherine’s DAH Sun is square
Her DAH Venus is square
Her DAH Jupiter is quincunx
Her DAH Saturn is sextile.
In addition:
Catherine’s DAH Neptune is quincunx William’s natal Mercury, the ruler of his natal 7th house

The Daily Age Harmonic charts move so quickly that these connections could only be there for a day or two, so if the time of birth is inaccurate there are no connections to angles, or often the Moon. We know we have the correct time for Prince William because it was carefully recorded and the Age Harmonic charts confirm it.
I hope I have amply demonstrated just how accurate harmonic charts are and how effective they can be for prediction, timing and rectification.

The marriage of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales to Catherine Elizabeth Middleton took place on the 29th April 2011 at Westminster Abbey, London, England.
The bride started her walk down the aisle at 11.00 am and they were pronounced man and wife by the Archbishop of Canterbury at 11.20 am BST.
This is the chart for the official pronouncement of marriage.
Leo rising with its ruler, the Sun, in the 10th house is very fitting for a Royal marriage. The Sun in trine with Pluto is a powerful and fortunate signature giving both leadership abilities and the ability to implement new ideas.
It fascinated me that the angles for this chart are close to identical to the angles of the natal chart of William’s father, Prince Charles and the chart of Charles and Camilla marriage (click names to see charts). This suggests that the degrees of these angles will be important for this branch of the Royal Family.
As is fitting for such a sacred occasion, the Ascendant received a biseptile aspect from the Mars-Jupiter conjunction in the 10th house and Neptune in the 8th house, making a septile pattern. Septiles to the angles are often involved in ceremonious, spiritual and sacred moments.
The Ascendant is in the Libra duad of Leo, an excellent combination for marriage as it is romantic and ardent and also gives grace, charm and skill in public relations. As Venus is the ruler of Libra, this planet becomes the sub-ruler of the Ascendant.
The Ascendant is in applying trine to Venus, so this is a good augury for the harmony of the marriage. This is further emphasised by Venus conjunct the MC from the 9th house.
Notice that the ruler of the Ascendant, the Sun, is in the Leo duad of Taurus. Taurus fits the ‘nature’ theme of the wedding, with beautiful maple trees lining the aisle; these trees will now be planted on William and Catherine’s estate. The Leo duad further emphasises the royalty theme.
Transiting Jupiter will be conjunct the wedding Sun from July 2011 – March 2012 , suggesting much happiness and benefit during this period.
The Ascendant in a fixed sign and its ruler, the Sun, in a fixed sign and duad suggests a long duration for the marriage as fixed signs are stable and settled.
The Vertex axis
is conjunct the Moon’s Nodes axis, indicating a destined union; this combination often gives considerable public appeal as well. This axis straddles the 5th-11th house, which could describe children of destiny. Note that Prince Charles has his Vertex in the 5th house conjunct Mars and Jupiter, giving him two male children who are heirs to the throne. The Vertex in this marriage chart is trine Mars and Jupiter, giving a similar energy signature.
In addition the antiVertex is conjunct the Part of Fortune, suggesting considerable benefits from this union.
To my great interest the duad of the Vertex is 0Virgo43, conjunct the natal Vertex of William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth ll This suggests a destined connection between this marriage and Her Majesty.
In August the transiting North Node will conjunct the marriage Vertex in the 5th house. This can be a very fertile period particularly as it is also trine Jupiter, the ruler of the 5th house of children. If her own natal chart agrees, this is a time when Catherine can become pregnant.
By Solar Arc the Vertex moves to conjunct the North Node in two years and as the North Node is also square the Moon during this period, I think it will be an important time in their lives.
The Moon
is 26 degrees into the sign of Pisces and is in the Capricorn duad of Pisces. The Moon in Pisces in the 9th house describes the global interest in the wedding and the huge amount of media televising and photographing the wedding party and ceremony. This was further emphasised by the Moon in applying conjunction to Uranus – the planet of broadcasting and media! As a Pisces-Capricorn combination is one of the signatures of structured music, the Capricorn duad of Pisces describes the beautiful classical and ceremonial music sung during and after the ceremony.
The Moon at ‘the bendings’ i.e. square its nodal axis, further increased public attention!
The Moon in Pisces is noted for its compassion and in the Capricorn duad of Pisces in the 9th house this compassion will be structured into work for charities and institutions on an international level.
There is some discussion about this Moon being ‘void of course’, but of course it isn’t! It makes three applying aspects before leaving Pisces; a quindecile to Saturn, a bi novile to Pluto and a parallel to Mercury. It also makes an out of sign applying conjunction to Uranus in Aries.
The closest applying aspect is the quindecile to an angular, exalted Saturn in Libra. I think this aspect describes the smooth flow of the wedding , where everything went to schedule and on time. The quindecile aspect is noted for focus and obsession so I think this describes the intense focus of ‘practice makes perfect’ for the wedding.
The novile aspects describe initiations and the Moon in applying binovile to Pluto certainly describes a very intense ‘initiation’ into public life and dealing with matters of power and status.
The applying parallel of declination to Mercury conjunct MC describes the considerable amount of public communication involved in the wedding. This aspect suggests the couple will have considerable communication with the public throughout their marriage.
The Moon is also applying to Uranus. As mentioned before, this planet rules all things electronic, including broadcasting and media, so this conjunction is very appropriate. In the marriage chart the Moon-Uranus suggests that this couple will make a number of changes in international charities (Pisces) as well as sponsor and possibly spearhead new concepts (Aries) on a global level. These new projects will likely be practical because the Moon is in the Capricorn duad of Pisces and long lasting because Uranus is in the Taurus duad of Aries.
The Moon will be receiving a quincunx aspect from Saturn from December 2011 – late August 2012. This can be a stressful time for the couple as it suggests to me a period where official duties require discipline and flexibility. It could also be a time during which they are periodically separated because of Prince William’s responsibilities.
In October-December 2012 transiting North Node will trine the Moon, bringing happy associations, beneficial unions – and perhaps an addition to the family!
Saturn
In any chart to do with the Royal Family Saturn can’t be overlooked as the orientation of this family is to duty. True to form, this marriage chart has an exalted Saturn retrograde and conjunct the IC, suggesting duty will be very important to this couple and the marriage itself will have considerable duties. The retrograde suggests these duties are connected to the past – or in this case, tradition. By Solar Arc Saturn will conjunct the IC in March 2o12, suggesting a time where duty reigns supreme.
Generally Saturn will work very well as it is in Libra, its exalted sign and in the duad of Aquarius, its sign of dignity. With this combination and the social position of this couple, it will almost certainly work as large scale humanitarian projects and gives the ability to organize structures involving groups of people. True to William and Catherine’s university education, it is an intellectual degree that can produce flashes of brilliance.
Unfortunately Venus is in applying opposition to Saturn and this will give periods of separation. In December 2012 secondary progressed Venus will oppose natal Saturn and in March solar arc Venus will oppose natal Saturn so it is likely to be a difficult period for William and Catherine involving someone connected to the family. It is possible that during 2013 a person of status within the family will be ill or perhaps even die.
Mars-Jupiter conjunction
What a wonderful energy to have in a marriage chart. It is particularly beneficial because Mars in the ruler of the MC, the angle of status ! It gives success, creative power, organising talents and is wonderful for both marriage and birth. It is lucky and helps the couple make very good decisions. It is further enhanced by a trine to the Vertex and North Node giving very happy associations with others. To make it even more fortunate is is conjunct the Sun of the chart for the United Kingdom, giving this couple a very strong tie to their country. This connection was clearly shown on the day of the marriage with the whole of the United Kingdom showing their delight in the marriage and joining in the celebrations.
This conjunction is on the Sun/Uranus midpoint and as the Sun is the ruler of the Ascendant and Uranus the ruler of the Descendant, increases the good fortune even further. This combination can be very lucky indeed, though at times a little accident prone.
The conjunction is also on the Pluto/Ascendant midpoint, showing a favourable turn of circumstances in life. Well, Catherine has moved from being a middle class ‘commoner’ to a princess of the realm!
In 2018-2020 Solar Arc and secondary Progressed MC is conjunct radix Mars-Jupiter, suggesting a time of increase in status and good fortune. It 2028-2029 Solar Arc Mars-Jupiter conjunct radix Sun, suggesting considerable prominence and advancement in life for the couple.
Chiron-Neptune conjunction
The Magi astrologers call this ‘The Cinderella Aspect’ and it is considered very, very favourable for long term happiness in a marriage. It is a little out of the maximum three degree orb so theoretically it is not all that influential, but in real life this is exactly what has happened – Catherine has been turned into a princess by her marriage to her prince!
Neptune is on the Sun/Vertex and Jupiter/Pluto midpoint, further enhancing its success. Neptune squares the Moon/Ascendant midpoint of 0Gemini34 again suggesting the massive film and media attention, but this midpoint can give susceptibility to ‘poisoning’ so perhaps the huge amount of gossip can be at times overwhelming.
The Midheaven
In matters to do with goals, status and career the MC is the point of focus. True to such a huge event the MC in the marriage chart is highly activated.
It has a conjunction with Venus, indicating matters to do with love and marriage are in focus. It has a conjunction with Mercury, indicating matters to do with communication are emphasised. It has an opposition to Saturn indicating matters to do with duty, responsibility and structure are important.
The Midheaven also carries several midpoint structures:
There is MC = Jupiter/Uranus of which the classic textbook description is “a fortunate turn in life”. This will continue to bring good fortune to the couple.
MC = Mercury/Venus – the ‘Combination of Stellar Influences’ describes this as ‘lighthearted living’ and connects the couple to artists and writers.
MC = Ascendant/Vertex. These three important angles in a midpoint structure suggests a moment of destiny.
As the MC moves through the chart by secondary progression and solar arc it will time important events in the life of this marriage. I have mentioned many of these times in this article and there is one other. When Solar Arc Uranus conjuncts radix MC and opposes radix Saturn in November 2021 there will be a very important change, what it is remains to be seen as there are several possibilities and Uranus always brings the unexpected. It is likely to bring a change of occupation and/or a sudden rearrangement of circumstances.
